We had a wonderful time in Aberdeen for the Annual Thanksgiving Family Gathering. Mattox had a blast playing with his cousins Ean and Quinn from Florida as well as all the other cousins who were mostly BOYS all about the same age!! They were all sooooo cute and funny. They ran around whatever establishment we were gathered at and played and got along so well. It was so sweet to see them all together!!! We are all so blessed to be part of such a wonderful, big family. To be able to get together each year is truly a great joy. I wish had more pictures of ALL the boys playing together. Bob the Builder

Bob the Builder came to Mobile!! Jason, Sally and Luke came over to go see him with us. We had a great day!! Luke and Mattox played and played! Luke loved picking the flowers outside Bob's trailer and Mattox was amazed by the solar powered porch light on the trailer. They were soooo cute!!!

We had a fun time at the fair this year. Mattox loved the pony ride best but the pics. weren't good. I was a very brave mom and I let Mattox ride 2 rides by himself!!! Yes, it took LOTS of coaxing from Stephen. He is such a big boy! I can't believe how much he has grown and changed. Everyday he amazes me. When I call him my baby he says... I not baby... Mattox big boy. He will always be my baby.

My dad has been wanting to go to a Southern Miss. football game so Mattox and I met him in Hattiesburg and Mattox went to his first football game. We met for a snack at the mexican restaurant where Stephen and I met ( and worked together). Then we looked around the campus before the game. I thought Mattox might make it half way through the game... however, he loved it!!! There were 3 minutes left in the game and we left to try to beat the traffic. Mattox threw a fit to stay! Being at the game made me think of my mom. She has told me about going to Southern games with my dad. I chanted the cheer she taught me with a smile... B I G G O L D Big Gold, Big Gold, Country!!!! My mom loved football!!

We had birthday cake at Mattox's school on his birthday. It was so funny because the little boy standing beside Mattox with the very excited smile is Carson. He was excited about the cake until he got a piece and then he wouldn't even taste it. Go fgure. Also for those of you who know the storyof Mattox's first day at Montessori and the bloody lip... Carson is the little tike that popped Mattox in the mouth. Now they are BFF!

We visited Melanie while we were in Jackson for Papa's birthday. Mattox had blast playing with Carson and Conner.
Carson and Conner have Guitar Hero but it has a whole band!

Papa's Birthday

Papa's birthday was June 6th. We went to Jackson and spent the day with him. We took him out to eat and shopping. Here you can see Mattox thinking... Yep! I picked out that puppy birthday card that is making papa smile.

WOW Is it really Potty Training time!?

One day in May, I was picking Mattox up from Montessori and the teacher said he had just told her he needed to "potty". WOW!!! He brought the whole issue up!!! So we bought a potty seat and have let him potty when he says he needs to. We haven't pushed the issue and aren't officially starting the real "training" until we get back from Disney World. But the funniest thing is that the first time he sat on the potty seat at home he asked for a book! Yes. HE asked for it! Go figure. It must be a boy/man thing.

Making Pear People

Nancy's Birthday at the Beach

For my birthday Stephen surprised me with a weekend at the beach! He even got a BABYSITTER! Mattox stayed with Jason and Sally. I'm sure he had as much as we did.

We had terrific time. We enjoyed the most perfect weather you could ever ask for at the beach. We never got hot even though there were no clouds in the glorious blue sky. There was a slight breeze, just enough to keep you cool. In my case it was very deceiving because I got a really bad sunburn. It was well worth it though:-)! We also had a great time at the outdoor bar enjoying new drinks, chit chatting and meeting new people. It was a fun whirlwind of night. The next night we ate at the most devine sushi restaurant that was right in the Hilton where we were staying. It was the best sushi I've ever had! It was GREAT birthday surprise!

Memorial Day Atlanta Trip

While in Atlanta we took Mattox to the Children's Museum. It was wonderful! Everything was hands-on FUN!!! Mattox got to paint, crawl through tunnels, play the piano and guitar in the music room, build with moonsand, and the list goes on. It really was a great place!

Mattox also got to go fishing, pretend shop in the grocery store (so cool!) and ride a real John Deer tractor!

Bubbly Baths Are a Blast

Mattox has always loved to take a bath and play in the water but it has reached a new level!! We started taking bubble baths!! He loves it! It is so sweet to watch him play in the bubbles!

Mattox thought it was so cool that we had puddles outside after ALL the RAIN! He decided to throw rocks in them so daddy gave rock skipping lessons well maybe not "skipping" lessons but... treasured memories. I bet you can pick out my favorite 2 photos. Aren't they precious. He a TRUE Daddy's boy.

It finally stopped raining and we could go outside! Mattox wanted me to push him on his tricycle. It wasn't long before he came up with a new plan! He hopped off and said "momma, sit!" and patted the seat. Well I couldn't fit on it facing forward so I sat down backwards. Then he decided he would push me! It was great until I ended up in the azalea bushes!!

More Rainy Day Painting

Mattox loves to paint and as you will see it sooo funny and soooo messy. He doesn't stay on the paper. He wants to paint EVERYTHING around him too!! We just paint in a diaper for now. After painting, it is straight to the bubbly bath! I am working on teaching him colors so I had him paint a page for red, yellow, blue and green and I'm going to make a little book. We'll see if it helps!

We have been having some beautiful weather!! Yes!! It's finally spring and Mattox wants to be outside (or in Mattox lingo ''Iside'') all the time. We've been having so much fun! Mattox found our old washtub and turned it into a drum. At first he rolled/pushed/pulled it around, climbed in and out of it and used his hands to pound out his beats. He has since evolved to using sticks he finds in the yard as drumsticks. It is amazing to watch! He really has an ear for music. He also loves to play in the sand. He will dig in it, fill buckets but his favorite thing to do is to throw it into the air. :0

Mardi Gras was a blast this year. Mattox loved the parades. He caught lots of beads, toys, cookies, and a ton of stuffed animals. He would wave as the floats went by and bounce to the bands which were, of course, his favorite part. He seemed to pay special attention to the drums. It was hilarious how good he got at putting on beads one handed. He would have stuffed animals in one hand and put beads on with the other. After Mard Gras weekend he insisted on wearing beads everywhere we went, including school. The fuuniest catch this year was a Ole Miss Rebel t-shirt just the right size for Mattox. Imagine that... a MSU Bulldog catching a Rebel shirt! The BEST throw for 2009 was the Peanut Butter Moonpie!!!! They were delicious!!

This was one of Mattox's favorite toys caught during Mardi Gras. He blew it and blew it and blew it some more! Mattox made new friends playing football. The weather was a little chilly but very nice.

Taste of Mobile

We took Mattox with us to the Taste of Mobile Bay this year. For those of you who don't know, this a food festival in Mobile. Restaurants from all over Mobile setup fancy booths and offer a taste of the best they have to offer. We get to vote for our favorite soup, burger, fish, pasta, salad, etc. and the restaurants hope they win the honor of being titled The Best (food item) in Mobile. Anyway, Stephen always gets free tickets and we attend with empty tummies. Mattox tried lots of food but his favorite part was the band. Imagine that. We couldn't keep him off the dance floor. And the band loved him right back. At one point they even had him on stage but I didn't get pictures. He really liked the horns.

The Azalea Trail Maids were there. Check out the look on Mattox's face. He was such a flirt.

Our neighbor has a Little Tikes Rock Wall. Mattox loves it!!! He climbs and slides. It also has a telescope! It is so funny though... he has to brush all the pine straw off of it. Yep, he may be a little OCD.

I got to help carve our pumkins this year. It was awesome!! I used neat tools like a huge spoon, veggie scraper, and a mini-shovel. But the BEST were my fingers! I loved pulling the ooey, gooey slimey, pulp from inside. Mommy said was the best helper ever. She carved my intials into one of our pumpkins and we carved a funny face in the other one.

Our First Family Fair Day

Hip! Hip! Hooray! We are going to the fair!

It's official!! Mattox is a natural born cowboy! The pony ride was his favorite part of the whole fair. He sat back, held on with one hand and rode like he had done it a million times before. When it was time to get off he grabbed on and wouldn't let go! He threw a fit!!

This is my friend from church, Chloe. We went to the fair together. I found these little beachballs that paddles attached to them. Chloe got a Dora the Explorer and I got the Spiderman. We batted, traded back and forth, and played with them all day!

This was sooo funny. Mattox had been feeding the animals without much hesitation until we got to this big, long haired red yak. You couldn't see anything but hair and a glimmer of his eyes because his head was down. Mattox started to feed him and then the yak opened his BIG mouth! Mattox jerked back and refused to put his hand anywhere near the yak's mouth. That's one smart little boy! If you look closely you can see Chole reaching to feed him. She wasn't scared at all. Go figure.

This was my first taste of fair food and I'm sold! Corndogs are delicious -mustard and all!! It even comes on this cool stick so I can hold it all by myself.

I got to feed carrots to the goats, llamas, and a camel.

Mommy says I am a good helper. She got me my own rake so that I can help with the yard work. I helped daddy plant flowers and rake the front yard. I really liked daddy's big rake better than mine. I read a nursery rhyme in their fun chair. Mommy says I'm super smart!

Aunt Sally and mommy helped me ride a tricycle.
I showed Uncle Jason how I blow raspberries. He was really impressed. I tried to teach him how but no luck.

I got to see my Uncle Adam, Uncle Matthew, Aunt Pam, Papa Johnny, and lots more family. I got to play with the puppy, Colonel.

Trip is my buddy. I want to grow up to be just like Trip!

Mae Mae and Pop came to see me!

Mae Mae and Pop came to Mobile to see me! I was so excited to see them. We went to the flea market! They bought me a John Deer outfit. Mommy says I look adorable in it. Green is my color. Mae Mae, Pop, and I played games. We hung out on the couch and I shared my blankie with them. I love my Mae Mae and Pop!!

I Love Great Grandmother's Rocker

It was the funniest thing!! Mattox all of a sudden wanted to sit in the big rocker. He has his own rocker and sits in it all the time. I had never thought about putting him in the big rocker. But when we did he got the biggest smile, grabbed the armrests and started rocking and laughing. You could tell he felt like a big boy!! He asked for his toy tool chest and then a book. He sat in that chair and played for about 20 minutes!! He is growing up way too fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My momma always told me...and I remember from Jason, Matthew & Adam, when little ones are quiet they are up to something. Mattox found the toilet paper and unrolled the entire roll! He has started helping us clean up anything on the floor. So when I said, "Let's clean up." he started putting it in the bathtub. Sooo CUTE!!

Visiting Lynne in Florida

We went with Melanie, Carson and Conner to Florida to visit Lynne, Ray, Cassidy and Kristen. We had a BLAST!! Aunt Lynne bought me my own pool to play in and pool toys, too. Mommy was trying to put my bathing suit own and ran off. Naked baby alert!!

I got to fish with Carson and Conner. I caught a BIG fish. It felt cold and slippery. I wanted to take him home to show daddy but mommy said his mommy would miss him so we let him swim home.

FUN FUN at the Watermelon Patch

This summer mommy and I joined a play group called The Watermelon Patch. After we sang, played with instruments, read a story from a really big book, played with bubbles and a parachute and other stuff like that - we got to have FREE PLAY!!!! I got to jump in a big castle, climb on, over, under, through, all kinds of cool stuff and so much more. I can't wait to go back next year!

We participated in a Bike-a-Thon to raise money for St. Jude.

I couldn't ride a bike yet so mommy pushed me around in my buggy.

We raised $300.00. I came in 3rd place for raising the most money!
